Adobe Photoshop is the industry-standard software used by professional photographers on their images. Photoshop training will allow you to do everything from simple adjustments to the most creative manipulations. Our courses are designed to be taken as a logical progression. If you are serious about photography & digital imaging, these are the courses for you.
Photoshop is not an intuitive package, no matter how computer literate you may be. It is a huge package and it will take time to become proficient! There are several books on the subject and countless magazines providing tips and tricks. However our courses are designed to teach you the good disciplines of Photoshop image retouching, so if you attend our courses you will gain a very sound and comprehensive grounding in the best techniques - and you will have the confidence in your abilities to enhance your pictures and create images to be proud of......... but don’t forget that Photoshop cannot make a bad photograph into a good one.
Students need to be keyboard & mouse literate. You can work in either Photoshop CS or Photoshop Elements.
Photoshop - Stage 1
You will begin by learning your way around the Photoshop environment, menus, palettes & toolbars. We then move on to: rotating, cropping, adding a border, levels, contrast & colour correction, hue & saturation, basic cloning techniques e.g. removing red-eye & blemishes from portraits, and those unattractive power lines from your landscape.

Photoshop - Stage 2
This day logically leads on from Day 1 and builds on the techniques learnt. You will cover: perspective cropping, duotones, dodging/burning, using blur and sharpen filters. Hand tinting an image. Colour into black and white. More cloning techniques and more advanced levels. We will also start to use some of Photoshop's more creative filters e.g. texture & artistic filters.

Photoshop - Stage 3
Perfect 'selections' are essential to creating any high-quality image. Learn various ways of making selections, feathering, anti-aliasing techniques and masks. All these techniques are vital, for example, when extracting people from their background; adding motion where you want it; adding depth of field to your images. Then layers, layers & more layers...
Cost: £90
Photoshop - Stage 4
We now move onto more advanced features: Creating and editing type and using special effects with type. Healing brush & patch tool techniques. Organising layers with sets and applying layer styles. Understanding resolution from digital capture through to print, web and email use.
